Chapter 1030 - 783: The Silver Fleet
Speaking, Solis suddenly slapped his own head with both hands, and the red-eyed Solis in the mirror began to howl in pain. The terrifying screams even caused the glass to shatter further!
"No! No more! I admit my mistake!" the red-eyed Solis roared.
"No! It’s not enough! I must make you understand who the real master is!" Solis’s hands inexplicably infused runes into his own head, and the red-eyed Solis in the mirror appeared even more tortured. Suddenly, the figure of the red-eyed Solis became blurred, and afterward, only Solis’s own reflection remained amongst the broken mirror shards.
"Shameless parasite!" Solis snorted coldly, but suddenly stumbled, nearly falling over. This psychic battle wasn’t the first time it had happened, nor would it be the last. Ever since that parasite had entered his consciousness, Solis had already fought with it numerous times. Each time it was more difficult, and Solis knew that the other was using him to become stronger. However, he was not unprepared. It’s just that the recent return of Elma had somewhat distracted him, but now it seemed, the matter of Elma was no longer so important.
With a wave of his hand, the shattered mirror pieces restored themselves. Elma turned and left, but he didn’t notice that his reflection in the mirror didn’t leave, but slowly turned around, a sneer of contempt and disdain in its blood-red eyes: "Yes, you can struggle for now. But next time, the next time, I will completely occupy your body. Then, I will take the entire ancient Mage under my control. The God Chasers will rise, and those Giants hiding away will be thoroughly hunted down by us!"
Ever since obtaining the Tetrahedron, the Black Iron Fleet had not shown up again. Ruosha and Isrile’s combined fleet had patrolled the nearby star regions where the enemy might appear for quite a while, yet they still had not discovered any trace.
"Damn it, these sneaky bastards. If I find out where they’re coming from, I’ll definitely rush over and smash them to pieces!" Ruosha said annoyedly.
"I actually wish Long Yi were with us for the first time; I’ve realized my brain’s not enough," Isrile said, patting her own forehead.
At that moment, the two of them were idling on Whitestar; it had been a long time without any news of the Black Iron Fleet, but no one dared to take it lightly.
"Could the crisis be over?" Ruosha suddenly asked.
"Who knows? Whenever the Black Iron Fleet appeared, it always managed to destroy everything and then leave on its own. This time, however, it was defeated by us. If I were them, I couldn’t bear such a thing," Isrile said.
"I definitely couldn’t bear it, but if it were you, and you did bear it, why would that be?" Ruosha asked again.
"Isn’t it obvious? I’d be waiting for a much bigger revenge," Isrile said.
Just then, a wave of spatial fluctuations suddenly came from the cosmos ahead, followed by a surge of terrifying energy roaring from afar!
The shield of Whitestar immediately activated, and a massive light beam, several kilometers thick, struck Whitestar. Although protected by the shield, Whitestar suffered no damage. However, the light beam actually pushed Whitestar back hundreds of kilometers!
"Incoming!"
Ruosha roared, looking excitedly into the distance.
A huge screen rose from the ground, and with Whitestar’s special observation equipment, they saw what was happening in the distance.
"Is that...?"
"The Silver Fleet?"
Ruosha and Isrile looked at each other in surprise.
Out of a space rift, a hundred silver warships slowly emerged. These hundred warships formed a special formation, condensing their cannons into a giant light pillar.
Boom!
Another barrage hit; this time, Whitestar was prepared, withstanding the attack as its main cannon also charged up!
Boom!
A retaliatory shot was fired; the silver warships generated shields simultaneously, and those shields merged together, managing to withstand the blast, pushing back the silver warships by several hundred kilometers!
"They didn’t explode! Looks like they’ve brought in their high-grade goods this time," Ruosha said.
"In that case, let’s all play together!" Isrile disappeared as she spoke, teleporting back to the Phantom warship above her head. Isrile returned. Meanwhile, the surface of Whitestar opened a hatch to let the Phantom warship inside.
As the light cannons attacked again, Whitestar vanished in an instant, only to reappear behind the silver warships!
All the close-defense cannons on Whitestar fired, and the Phantom warship left quietly. Suddenly outflanked, the silver warships’ close-defense cannons began to attack, and all the warships turned around, aiming their main cannons at Whitestar!
Boom!
The main cannon of Whitestar fired first; two silver warships were completely exposed under the main cannon fire, although they had activated their shields. However, being hit so directly at close range, those two warships, in theory, should not have survived.
But at that moment, the two warships vanished into thin air! And then suddenly appeared above Whitestar!
"These bastards can jump too!" Ruosha yelled out.
"I saw it!" Isrile shouted.
Clearly, these silver warships were much stronger than the previous Black Iron warships!
"But, I don’t believe merely a hundred warships can match us!"
Large Nightmare Knights launched an assault towards the silver warships, which also opened their hatches, releasing humanoid Golems!
"Damn it! They’re copying us!" Ruosha shouted angrily.
"Are you scared?"
"Scared? I’m afraid they won’t be enough for me to play with!"
Large Nightmare Knights flew toward the enemy battleship, while the common Nightmare Knights came to the surface of Whitestar to face the enemy.
The golems looked exquisitely made, yet they had no sense of beauty about them. It felt as though they were purely made for the sake of manufacture, but their defense was incredibly shocking. Ordinary Nightmare Knights were actually unable to destroy them with a single blow; instead, the Nightmare Knights themselves were being dismantled one after another. If it wasn’t for the Knight Order’s ability to self-repair, witnessing this scene would have surely caused Ruosha unprecedented heartache.
At this time, the large Nightmare Knights and the Giant Beasts had also charged toward the silver battleships, whose close-defense cannons were even more powerful and accurate. Many of the large Nightmare Knights and Giant Beasts were shot down midway. Still, some managed to land on the surface of the battleships, only to discover that the entire surface of the battleships was seamless! And the silver armor sustained limited damage under heavy cannon fire!
"The turrets! Those close-defense turrets!" Ruosha shouted.
"Found them!" Isrile shouted back.
The Giant Beasts and the large Nightmare Knights pounced on the close-defense cannons, which operated in groups of three, with the remaining two able to counterattack if one turret was attacked. However, they couldn’t withstand much, as various attacks bombarded them in turn. All three turrets were uprooted, but to everyone’s surprise, there was nothing underneath! These turrets were functioning independently!
"Watertight!" Isrile laughed.
"In that case!" Ruosha suddenly pulled out a massive anchor from her personal space.
"I want to see how exactly you manage to be watertight!"
A large Nightmare Knight conjured an Array, teleporting Ruosha onto the surface of the battleship, where she wasted no time. She hoisted the gigantic anchor high and then slammed it down with force!
Clang!
The ripple of the shock created by Terror Valley spread from the silver armor.
Boom!
The weakest point cracked open, and instantly, a swarm of large Nightmare Knights surged over, thoroughly tearing the small breach wide open.
With the first one breached, the second and third were soon to follow. Ruosha leaped onto another silver battleship, and the massive anchor came crashing down again, tearing another gash!
"Isrile, behold our might!" Ruosha said proudly.
"Hmph, is that so difficult?"
At that moment, Isrile suddenly revealed her true form atop a silver battleship, expelling venom from her fangs, and the silver metal was corroded to form a massive cavity! Isrile’s three lackeys, following her example, corroded three more silver battleships at the same time.
"Psh! Your corrosion speed is way too slow! Nowhere near as good as mine!" Ruosha scornfully jumped onto another battleship. This time she accelerated in midair, and the massive anchor directly penetrated a battleship!
Feeling the immense threat nearby, the silver battleships began to warp away, trying to find a proper distance to engage in battle. But how could Ruosha and Isrile possibly let them get away?
Finally, the first silver battleship exploded, releasing a burst of silver light into the cosmos. With the first one gone, the second and third vessels continued to explode in succession.
Perhaps realizing victory was impossible, the remaining silver battleships started to retreat.
"This time you didn’t just detonate all of the battleships directly; it seems you’re not as financially bold as I thought." Ruosha, with her anchor hooked on a battleship, let it accelerate and warp, but it couldn’t shake her off.
"Come on, let’s see exactly what you have inside!"
The anchor tore open the battleship’s armor, and Ruosha jumped in.
To her surprise, there was actual space inside these silver battleships!
The initial black battleships were all unmanned, controlled only by a magic core. Yet, this battleship had a surprisingly spacious interior.
Could there be people manning this?
"Hey! Anyone there? I’ve come in!" Ruosha shouted.
There was no response from around.
Ruosha made her way to the bridge, only to discover that this battleship was still controlled by a magic core.
Odd. Where were these unmanned battleships coming from?
Thud!
A dull sound was followed by Isrile joining in.
"You’re here too. Does this mean you and I are thinking alike?" Ruosha asked without turning back.
"Since they’re able to flee, it means there must be a place capable of manufacturing and repairing them. If we can find that place, we can solve this problem once and for all," Isrile said.
"Perfect, then please, take a seat, my first mate," Ruosha said, spinning around to sit in the captain’s chair.
"You found it, huh? Actually, this is the position of the captain. Your spot is the highest, but that’s the chair of the lookout," Isrile pointed out, indicating the chair she was sitting on.
"Stop fooling yourself. You know very well that this here is actually the captain’s chair," Ruosha said with a smile.
"You’re the one fooling yourself. Your skills are far inferior to mine!" Isrile retorted without mercy. (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to vote for it on Qidian (qidian.com).
