Chapter 117 - 103: A Minor Threat
Long Yi watched the two dragons flying away in the distance, a faint sneer on his face. To miss out on such a good opportunity showed he was truly a coward.
Such a person was hardly worth Long Yi’s consideration.
On the other hand, the young lad who considered himself to be a great master, might one day become what he envisaged, but for now, he was far from it.
"Brother Long, where to next?"
Ai Lin stepped forward, unfolding the map and determining their current location with the help of Xiaoyou.
"We continue heading south. We’ve had reports of monsters appearing along the way. Halfway, there’s the Empire’s hunting lodge where we can rest a couple of days before heading for Silver Lake," said Long Yi.
"Great! Let’s move on!" Ai Lin cries out excitedly, her resolve strengthened to never be as cowardly as she’d been today.
"Let’s go!" Little Zi was equally excited, as this was her first adventure in all her two lives!
East Sea, undersea palace.
"What? The Dragon Knight Academy on holiday? Everyone went on a mission? Then what about me?" Mermaid Princess Mina stared at the Sea Emperor, princely lip pouted, and asked angrily.
"Just wait a while, wait for their winter break to end and school to start..."
"No! I won’t wait! I want to go on a mission too!" Mina yelled loudly.
"Nonsense! You can hardly breathe on land, and you still want to go on a mission? You think that’s your seabed?" The Sea Emperor, while loving Mina, absolutely wouldn’t let the little princess do whatever she wanted.
"Daddy’s a bad guy!"
Mina, the mermaid princess, yelled and dashed out. She disappeared, leaving only a string of bubbles behind.
The Sea Emperor watched forlornly in the direction Mina had gone, sighed, and murmured,
"I’d rather be a bad guy than let you face any danger."
In reality, Princess Mina hadn’t gone far, she had just hidden outside the door, waiting for her father to call her back. Hearing what her father had said, Mina knew she wouldn’t be going anywhere. In fact, she understood that her father was just concerned about her. However, she always believed that her power was plenty strong, and those two-footed creatures on land would not be able to pose any threat to her!
But, although she couldn’t leave openly, who said she couldn’t sneak away?
Princess Mina giggled and formed a plan in her heart.
Academy City, within the Temple of the Dragon God, in Black Dragon Tyl’s study. Tyl sat behind his desk, wearing a bitter smile as he looked at the person standing in front of him.
Dragon Language Instructor, Yavenny.
"Old Black Dragon! I heard you gave my student the Dragon Language inheritance?"
Danger gleamed in Yavenny’s eyes.
"I can explain."
Tyl was helpless. He just wanted Long Yi to be safe, but forgot that there was an even more troublesome person here! This person who used Dragon Language as a stepping stone, and always stuck to Long Yi’s side.
Perhaps others didn’t know Yavenny’s true identity, but how could Tyl not? This seemingly elf-like woman, once she went insane, was capable of dragging several Planes down with her. Even though she had been reining herself in for the past hundreds of years, no one knew when she might go insane again. Compared to her simple-minded elder sister, she was much more dangerous.
"Explain?" Yavenny grabbed Tyl’s collar, staring fiercely at Tyl, "I say, little black lizard, you know why I’ve been sticking with Long Yi, right? You should know the importance of Long Yi to me, right? What you did is equivalent to plotting to kill me, you understand?"
"How could I, how dare I..." Old Black Dragon Tyl was called a little black lizard by Yavenny, but he didn’t retort. Because whether in terms of real strength or seniority, wasn’t Yavenny far greater than him?
"You dare not? Huh!" Yavenny scoffed coldly, "Don’t think I don’t know your sinister plan. I have seen the cunning tricks of your Dragon Clan 10,000 years ago. So, once you learned that Long Yi is the Giant, do you want to do something bad? Or have you seen hope in returning to the Dragon Clan?"
Upon hearing Yavenny’s words, Tyl’s expression went cold, "Returning to the Dragon Clan? Haha, Yavenny, are you joking? Look at me, do I have the slightest affection for the Dragon Clan?"
Yavenny stared at Tyl’s eyes, her eyes flickered, and then she smiled, "That’s good. I thought those ancient lizards had an incredibly long foresight!"
Seeing the smile on Yavenny’s face, Tyl’s expression relaxed a bit. He slowly said, "You should know what I want to do, right?"
Yavenny turned and sat on the study desk, her big eyes flickering: "I don’t know the exact details, but since you entrusted your own flesh and blood to Long Yi, it’s easy to guess."
At this point, Yavenny’s voice dropped a bit, "It’s about the Divine Dragon Plane, isn’t it?"
"Divine Dragon?" Tyl scoffed, "That’s too generous. They even have the audacity to call themselves Divine Dragons."
Yavenny shook her head without agreeing or disagreeing, "I don’t care what you are up to, nor am I interested in interfering. But let me warn you that if your nonsensical plan harms Long Yi in any way, be sure that I don’t care about any contracts."
Tyl looked into Yavenny’s eyes, utterly still, without even a hint of flicker or reflection.
"Don’t worry, as you know my plan involves the Divine Dragon Plane, you should also realize that I will do nothing but assist Long Yi in growing faster. But I’m curious: Why are you so serious about Long Yi? You seem to think of him as more than just an ordinary..." Tyl was somewhat incredulous.
"It’s called love at first sight, something a little loach like you wouldn’t understand!"
Yavenny cheerfully interrupted Tyl, humming an obscure song. On hearing the song, even Tyl felt somewhat dizzy. When his dizziness dissipated, Yavenny had already disappeared from the study.
Tyl helplessly shook his head, feeling the cold sweat on his back. No matter how strong he is as the protecting black dragon of the Black Dragon Empire, he couldn’t underestimate Yavenny. Her notoriety is well-known over several planes, making him feel like a mere child in her presence. Furthermore, her unparalleled strategies are well-known, and she always has the ability to lead others by the nose.
Tyl didn’t quite understand how a boy like Long Yi could be the object of love at first sight for someone like Yavenny. The most terrifying part was that Yavenny wasn’t lying about it. She was serious.
Oh Long Yi, it’s not that your Uncle Tyl doesn’t trust you, but you will never be able to tame a woman like Yavenny in ten lifetimes! She will play you to death!
"Hmm, I’m glad you told me the truth."
Suddenly, Yavenny’s voice returned. Tyl felt his vision blur, then opened his eyes wide to see Yavenny sitting on the study desk, smiling at him.
Oh no! I was hypnotized! Did I accidentally reveal something I shouldn’t have!?
Tyl felt a chill run down his spine.
"Don’t worry. You didn’t reveal anything you shouldn’t have," Yavenny jumped down from the study desk, tidied up her skirt, and prepared to leave.
"By the way, have you visited Blood Coagulation? Did you get any news?" Inquired Tyl quickly, even more concerned about this as it concerned Long Yi’s safety.
"No, the head of Blood Coagulation has been replaced. The new leader wouldn’t budge at all, and due to the contract, I couldn’t be too rough on him. So, I didn’t get many useful leads. However, we can be certain that the assassination was orchestrated by the third prince." said Yavenny, "Oh, speaking of the third prince, he’s been quite active recently, are you interested?"
Tyl thought for a moment, shaking his head, "Let him do as he pleases. Let humans deal with human affairs. I can hardly fend for myself now, how can I worry about him?"
Yavenny shrugged, "As you wish, I’ll leave it there for today. If I remember anything else, I’ll come find you again."
Tyl saw Yavenny out with a beaming smile and ensured safety thrice afterwards. It was only then that he could relax.
After that, he paused for a long time, his mind went blank. It was only after a very long time that he could genuinely calm down.
"Ah... Yavenny has already seen through my plan. Will those old fools know too? Hehe. What can they do if they knew? The rules of this world cannot be changed. Would they dare to break through the plane and invade here?"
Tyl gradually calmed down and thought carefully.
"No, even if they dare not, they might secretly support someone... Long Yi, please grow up as soon as possible. My time is running out, and if you can’t rise to a sufficient height quickly, I won’t be able to help you."
