Chapter 1195 - 943: Bizarre World
More ferocious monsters surged out from all directions, and Long Yi, without any hesitation, killed them all, just as the Divine Envoy had said. The attack power of these monsters was increasing, and some even bore the markings of the Destruction Ripple!
Yet, Long Yi was not in a hurry because the situation was far from requiring his concern. After all, the only people who had entered this place were Long Yi and Little Seven. Hayden, who had also followed them in, had not arrived in this strange space. In fact, when Long Yi attempted to switch consciousness, despite a brief delay, he was still able to easily transfer his consciousness to Hayden, meaning that the space was not cut off, and their distance wasn’t far apart.
Now this was interesting. It was clearly a subspace, yet it wasn’t isolated, and the distance between the two was close. Where could it be?
While Long Yi was still battling on one side, Hayden had already taken action on the other. In that small space, the Tetrahedron had disappeared, and Hayden quickly left the area, heading upward. Upon leaving the building and noticing that the Purification Tower had also stopped working, Hayden immediately took flight, heading straight for the top of the Purification Tower, where a gigantic gemstone was located. This gemstone, which was driven by Divine Power, had become useless without it. Stuffing the gemstone into his personal space, Hayden took off at once, heading for the nearby planet.
This planet appeared smaller than the average one, and upon closer inspection, its surface was enveloped by extremely dense clouds, utterly obscuring what lay beneath. As Hayden flew towards the planet, Long Yi sensed the energy delay between himself and Hayden. Although it wasn’t very precise, Long Yi could distinctly feel the delay diminishing, meaning the distance between his body and Hayden was closing.
In a blink, Hayden had reached the atmosphere of the planet below. Uncertain of whether it was toxic, Hayden did not remove the barrier, and the thick air beneath gave Long Yi a start since the atmospheric resistance here was incredibly great. As he accelerated, his surroundings quickly heated up! However, Hayden continued to pick up speed.
The thickness of the cloud layer was something of a surprise to Long Yi; it seemed thickened to an uncanny degree. Could this planet be purely gaseous? Impossible, right? Regardless, there should be a solid core!
Then, at a certain point, the dense clouds suddenly parted as if a fault had appeared. Below was an immensely large Tetrahedron!
Golden light was radiating from the Tetrahedron!
It turned out the clouds weren’t yellow but pure white, with the yellowish color being an effect of the gold light shining through them. The Tetrahedron before his eyes was far larger than the Divine Envoy’s palm-sized one—each of its six edges was a kilometer long, and the patterns covering it were exactly like the enlarged version of the small Tetrahedron.
Hayden’s arrival did not cause any change in the massive Tetrahedron. So, Hayden began to circle the giant Tetrahedron, trying to find some flaws.
Meanwhile, inside, the pressure facing Long Yi had risen to an alarming level. To prevent the situation from truly becoming as the Divine Envoy had described, Long Yi did not allow Little Seven to join the battle. At this point, Long Yi alone was beginning to feel overwhelmed!
This was an unprecedented phenomenon; some of the terrifying Giant Beasts that burst out around him wore armor made of Crystal Stone, some seethed with the strength of Giants, and others even had claws inlaid with Cosmic Stone! The most inconceivable thing was that they were all real! This place was absolutely not an illusion! Certainly not anything concocted out of thin air—the attacks from those Giant Beasts brought real impacts to Long Yi every time!
This was simply...
So satisfying!
Long Yi hadn’t faced a true challenge in far too long, finding the days of effortlessly defeating weak opponents tedious and boring. A part of the reason he was so eager to enter the middle plane was because of this. And now, those terrifying Giant Beasts could keep him thrilled for hours on end!
Long Yi’s clothes were in tatters, and wounds occasionally appeared on his skin. The offensive techniques he prided himself on were now being creatively and consecutively turned back on him. The Cosmic Stone Greatsword flipped and sliced through the attacking Giant Beasts repeatedly, yet killing one had become a lot harder. Long Yi had to seriously confront each attacking Giant Beast, fully concentrating to kill one before moving on to the closest one among the group to continue his assault.
"Thrilling! Thrilling! Come on! All of you, come at me!" Long Yi roared. He truly didn’t dare to recklessly use any power now, as whenever he used a power, the next wave of Giant Beasts would surely come with a similar one. And it would be fine if it were just small abilities like healing wounds. But if they learned powers like reversing time, Long Yi would rather stab himself with his sword and be done with it—it would truly take the fun out of everything.
On the outskirts, Hayden was still searching. This golden Tetrahedron showed no sign of weakness whatsoever. After all, it was so large that searching bit by bit would be incredibly bothersome.
Being a Tetrahedron, if there were a place for invasion, where could it possibly be? There are so many shapes in the universe you could choose from, yet you had to pick the one with the fewest lines. Oh gods, oh gods, as a Virgo, where would you leave the key spot?
Decisively abandoning a thorough sweep, he focused on the centers of the four faces and the four vertices of the Tetrahedron!
Hayden immediately flew to the center of each face. The Tetrahedron’s patterns were perfectly symmetric, making the central spots distinctly clear. Hayden quickly checked all the spots, but didn’t find anything useful. Then he moved to the vertices, finding nothing at the first three. But upon reaching the fourth vertex, he astonishingly discovered, right at the tip, the very Tetrahedron where the Divine Envoy was hiding!
Damn! Long Yi had actually seen it from the start but hadn’t thought about the small Tetrahedron hiding there because the patterns above were perfectly continuous!
At this moment, the pressure Long Yi was under had reached its peak, and as much as he hated to admit it, he knew he could no longer keep up his bravado.
"Little Seven! Help out!"
Little Seven immediately rallied her mana to join the bombardment, and Long Yi was finally able to catch his breath for a moment, freeing up more energy to focus on Hayden. They were now at a point where, once this wave of beasts was cleared, the next wave would certainly appear with various powerful magics, and their full three-dimensional assault would become even more troublesome. Long Yi had to quickly unravel everything there.
Hayden approached the small Tetrahedron, reaching out to grab it, but a force field appeared around the Tetrahedron and bounced his hand away.
"There’s still one that slipped through the net? Get in there!" the Divine Envoy bellowed, and a strange energy materialized around Hayden. But when the energy disappeared, Hayden hadn’t moved an inch.
Long Yi had thought things were going badly, but even he hadn’t expected that Hayden couldn’t get inside.
"How can this be? This is impossible!" the Divine Envoy exclaimed in surprise.
"Something’s not right, if there’s anything different about Hayden compared to you and me..." Long Yi glanced at Little Seven.
"He has no soul, no consciousness; he’s completely controlled by you, he’s not even a complete Human, but more like a puppet," said Little Seven.
"Are you helpless against things without souls and consciousness? Does that mean everything you do relies on the soul and consciousness?" Long Yi seemed to be talking to himself, yet seemed to be asking the Divine Envoy.
"Take a guess, aren’t you the clever Giant?" the Divine Envoy shouted.
Long Yi fell silent for a while then broke into a smile, saying to Little Seven, "Little Seven, let’s make a bet. If we win the bet, we can enjoy a satisfying victory; if we lose, we’re going to be in for some bad luck."
Little Seven giggled and said, "No worries, boss, with your track record of losing nine out of ten bets, I’m already prepared for the worst."
Long Yi chuckled dryly, then suddenly became serious, "Little Seven! Soul shock! Full power output!"
Little Seven clearly didn’t quite understand what full power output meant, but from the expression on Long Yi’s face, she knew it meant to go big!
Little Seven’s body suddenly blazed with light, energy madly surged within her Cosmic Stone constitution, and a transparent Little Seven emerged behind her, growing larger and larger.
"Ah!"
A piercing shriek instantly swept around, spreading out in all directions. Long Yi took cover beside Little Seven, crouching and covering his ears. Despite having made comprehensive protective preparations, he still felt his soul ache. And the monsters around them— they all fell to the ground stiffly, losing their ability to move, in an instant!
As the shrieking stopped, the glow around Little Seven also faded. She sat on the ground, somewhat weak. Although she didn’t gasp for breath like Humans would, Long Yi could feel her weakness. Fortunately, the Cosmic Stone was frantically replenishing her energy, and she would soon fully recover.
After one soul shock, the voice of the Divine Envoy was completely gone.
"Hey! Are you still there?" Long Yi asked with a smile, but there was no response.
Outside, the force field protecting the Tetrahedron had weakened a lot, and Hayden continued to reach for it, but still couldn’t grasp it.
Still not working?
Long Yi felt anxious inside. No matter how powerful a soul shock was, if it did not kill the opponent outright, its effects would soon pass. And once the effect passed, what awaited him might be a horde of monsters capable of soul shock!
My goodness, this might cost me my life!
Stay calm! Think! What else can be done!
To deal with Divine things, what else is there besides Divine Power? Divine Power is certainly not something that can be given to Hayden who is outside, so...
Wait! Snake game!
Rules! Those are rules!
What are rules! Rules are that one plus one equals two! No matter who you are, no matter where you are! As long as you understand that one plus one equals two, you can use it!
What about the snake game then?
At this moment, Long Yi’s consciousness within Hayden was not substantial, and did not include the snake game, but now he directly loaded all his consciousness into it.
"Come out, Snake game!" (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets; your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
