Chapter 1261 - 109
In a desolate planet within the Sanctuary Empire, a Cosmic Stone formed an absolutely sealed prison. The Divine Worm Solis was imprisoned there, and Long Yi and Little Zi were just about to figure out the true nature of the so-called Divine Worm.
"Giant Long Yi, have you received the huge surprise that I sent you?" the temporarily free Solis floated in front of Long Yi and said. Resting for a while had allowed him to regain some of his False Divine Power, but he still dared not harbor any delusions towards Long Yi or Little Zi. The Thousandfold Divine Form and the surging Divine Power of Little Zi attracted him, but he feared the God Eater more.
"Yes, it really is a big surprise," Long Yi said with a grin.
"You don’t seem to be surprised," Solis remarked, somewhat perplexed.
"A bunch of Black Dragons, what’s there to be surprised about? To be honest, they don’t pose as great a threat to me as you do in my eyes," Long Yi said. After all, in the past in the Human Realm, it was a world where the Dragon Clan lived together with humans, unlike the Lower Planes now, where barely anyone had ever really seen the Dragon Clan.
"Hehehe, ahahaha! Giant Long Yi, your foolishness truly surprises me. Are you unaware that this is a continuation of the war that started ten thousand years ago? And you, poor giant, will be the sole target of that group of mad beasts!" Solis laughed.
"Look, you yourself just said they’re just a bunch of mad beasts. Do you think I’d be afraid of a bunch of beasts?" Long Yi shook his head and continued preparing the magic with Little Zi.
Solis had been imprisoned for so long that he was actually unaware that Long Yi had already encountered the Black Dragons in a fight. His original plan was to use the Dragon Clan to intimidate Long Yi, to shake his confidence, thus creating some opportunities for himself. But to his astonishment, Long Yi wasn’t taking those dragons seriously at all!
"In that case, let me tell you a secret," Solis suddenly said.
"Let’s hear it, I like secrets," Long Yi stopped the magic he was working on and looked at the red fluctuations in front of him.
"Come closer, I’ll tell you and you alone," Solis said.
"I insist we listen together," as he spoke, the God Eater slithered out of Long Yi’s hand.
The sight of dark golden arcs of electricity immediately petrified Solis.
"No need, since you’re both interested, it doesn’t hurt to tell you," Solis said, "The truth is, the curse that afflicted the Dragon Clan has already been lifted, it’s just that those poor reptiles don’t know it yet! If those reptiles are not your match for the time being, then someone will completely remove their curse, and when that time comes, what you’ll have to face won’t just be a bunch of simple beasts, but a group of powerful beings capable of roaming freely through the multiverse!"
This time, Long Yi truly took it to heart. He had never been worried about the Dragon Clan because they were bound by the Giants’ curse. The Giants’ curse turned that powerful race into reptiles that could only fight on instinct, giving Long Yi a variety of ways to deal with them. But if the shackles on the Dragon Clan were gone, the situation would instantly become unpredictable.
The strength of the Dragon Clan in the ancient war was witnessed throughout the multiverse. To mention just one point, those dragons were capable of tearing through planar space and traveling between planes on their own strength!
Afraid or not?
"How do you know about this?" Long Yi asked.
"Hahaha, that’s my secret!" Solis laughed smugly.
"Not anymore."
Both Long Yi and Little Zi completed the magic they were holding, and Solis immediately sensed something was not quite right. As an energy being, he was extremely sensitive to changes in energy and could clearly sense that the magic in Long Yi and Little Zi’s hands wasn’t destructive, but it felt like a black hole that seemed to tear him apart!
"Are you going to come here willingly, or should I use the God Eater to drag you over?" Long Yi asked.
Not wanting to experience the power of the God Eater again, Solis obediently moved in front of Long Yi.
Suddenly, Solis launched a Mental Impact at Long Yi, then transformed into a beam of red light heading straight for Long Yi’s eyes!
Crack!
Dark golden electricity instantly captured Solis, tightly binding him, and then began a painful, but not fatal, torment.
Solis immediately started to scream, as the scant amount of False Divine Power he had accumulated was devoured and completely drained by the God Eater.
Afterwards, Little Zi took out a gemstone from her private space, which contained a Divine Worm. Originally, in Solis’s secret planet, there was a tower with a gemstone at the top, and trapped within the gemstone were these Divine Worms.
However, it was strange that Solis hadn’t eaten those Divine Worms. He just consumed their consciousness, which puzzled Long Yi, so Long Yi needed to experiment.
Both spells were based on the magic Little Zi had used to dissociate the Divine Worm, modified for analysis and even capable of breaking down compositions of worm fragments without harming them.
Seeing the Divine Worm taken out by Little Zi from the gemstone, Solis started laughing weakly: "Look at that fragile creature, ah! I’ve devoured its consciousness and information, leaving only its instinctual body."
Long Yi was somewhat baffled again. Initially, Long Yi thought that as Solis claimed, the Divine Worm was a complete entity, just fragmented as the Divine Status split. And now, Solis was mocking a part of his own body? Mocking himself to what end?
Or perhaps, from the very beginning, Solis had never told the truth. Could it be there was not just one Divine Worm, and every Divine Worm was a separate individual?
The essence of Solis was an extremely complex double helix energy structure, including six wholly distinct magical structures as its components. The magical analysis scrutinized both the entity of Solis and the Divine Worm imprisoned by Little Zi. Long Yi submitted the analytical results of the two spells to the Giant tablet. Soon, he identified a part within Solis’s body that was identical to the structure of the Divine Worm in Little Zi’s possession.
"You have copied its structure," Long Yi said to Solis.
"It’s an honor for it to become a part of my body," Solis responded.
"I don’t understand. Its original form is still here, so it hasn’t become a part of your body," Long Yi pointed out, indicating the worm fragment in Little Zi’s hand.
"You don’t understand because you are an idiot," Solis retorted, beginning to disdain Long Yi without further explanation.
Long Yi laughed. It was the first time he had ever been scorned. However, he had to admit that the structure of these Divine Worms was indeed very special.
Nevertheless, Long Yi was not without a plan.
"Actually, I’m quite curious. If you were to become complete, what would you look like?" Long Yi asked Solis.
"I would become a god, of course!" Solis answered without hesitation.
"If you would become a god upon completion, does that mean the original gods were some kind of worm?" Long Yi countered.
This time, Solis fell silent, for even he didn’t know how to respond.
"Alright, let me analyze your structure. I think I have a simple method to test this theory."
Long Yi’s approach was both simple and crude, replacing the six different magical structures of the double helix that made up Solis with the six substances from the life chain, working backwards to determine how these structures paired up. This would yield a basic model of the double helix structure.
"Little Zi, directly use Divine Power to create these six pairs, then cross-reference them with the human body structure," Long Yi instructed.
The reason for choosing humans was Long Yi’s belief that gods originally created Giants in their own image, who in turn created Humans in their image, suggesting that Humans must be a form of life very similar to gods.
Little Zi nodded. With her Thousandfold Divine Form, her Divine Power was exceedingly abundant. Plus, her energy life form was highly compatible with Divine Status, so her efficiency in wielding Divine Power was even higher than Long Yi’s.
Little Zi quickly completed the combinations, and during the comparison with human structures, many combinations were incorrect. So, she immediately began the comparison again. Fortunately, on the third try, all the comparisons passed the verification.
Then Long Yi immediately used the tablet to replace Solis’s analyzed life chain structure with human nucleic acids and completed the missing parts with human ones.
To Long Yi’s surprise, if Solis’s genes were measured against humans, not much was missing; most of the structure was complete.
Long Yi said to Little Zi, "Little Zi, separate Solis’s consciousness."
Little Zi, who had once dissociated many Divine Worms, was extremely familiar with such tasks. Especially under the suppression of the God Eater, Solis couldn’t resist at all.
"His consciousness is very complex, containing many inexplicable things," said Little Zi as she cast the spell.
"Don’t bother with whatever that is. We won’t analyze his consciousness for now. Just extract it for me," Long Yi said.
"That’s much simpler!"
The Divine Power invested with mental force completely extracted Solis’s consciousness from the worm’s body.
Afterwards, Little Zi forged a Cosmic Stone prison and stuffed Solis’s consciousness inside. Since it was pure consciousness without any energy to rely on, it was impossible for it to escape from within.
"No! You can’t do this! That’s my body! That’s my energy! I want to become a god! I must!" the voice of Solis came through, a feature Little Zi had preserved for communication purposes.
"Of course, I can do this, and I’ll do as I please," Long Yi said with a slight smile.
Afterward, the life chain of the worm consisted solely of magical structures. No Divine Power was needed to complete this, and Long Yi pulled out the Giant scepter, an item that had been in his personal space for quite some time. He seldom needed it, but for such simple repetitive work, the Giant scepter was nothing short of miraculous.
With the effect of the Giant scepter, Long Yi’s Mana was rapidly drained, and Solis’s original body was quickly becoming complete.
"How can... this... be..." Solis, trapped within the Cosmic Stone prison, was dumbfounded. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing – the very thing he had longed for was rapidly coming to completion in the hands of Long Yi!
