Chapter 1335 - 1081: Monster

"You’ve made a mistake," Yahola’s expression remained unchanged as he shook his finger at the old man. "First, there’s no difference in our ages—we were born at the same time and split at the same time. The only difference is that your host is nearly dead, and you call me ’kid.’ That shows that your thoughts have been infected by your host, and you’re beginning to lose your clarity of mind. Therefore, I suggest you’d better change your host quickly, or you might end up demented just like them."

"Second, I’ve come here seeking help, not praying for it. And you will help me—why is something you already know."

The old man flew into a rage, his whole body suddenly erupting with Divine Power in an attempt to attack Yahola, only to be blocked by a wave of Divine Power shot by Simu.

"Simu! What do you mean by this!" the old man bellowed.

"What I mean is, he makes sense," said Simu.

The old man retracted his Divine Power, sullen and silent.

And that’s how things stood.

Originally, this middle Plane was teeming with Divine Worms, who, after countless battles and mutual devouring, had formed the relatively peaceful structure that existed now. Everyone was roughly of equal strength, or had some hidden abilities that were good enough, or lacked a compelling reason to be devoured, and so on.

Now, Long Yi had appeared. The appearance of Long Yi disrupted this balance in an almost catastrophic way. The most crucial point was that Long Yi was a Trinity god. A Divine Worm, on the contrary, had great difficulty achieving Trinity status because while they parasitized Divine Souls, they couldn’t control them. They dominated the Divine Status but couldn’t control consciousness. In other words, they truly controlled only one aspect: Divine Status. This made it extremely difficult for them to contend with Long Yi in terms of Divine Power. The most important thing, however, was Long Yi’s trump card.

The God Eater.

This terrifying magical creature was the Giant’s most astonishing invention, powerful enough to devour gods themselves. Any Divine Worm would turn to ash in front of the God Eater. Hence, no Divine Worm dared to stand against Long Yi. And it was for this reason they gathered here, hiding, constantly pondering what to do.

Now, Yahola had come, deciding to fight. He sought help.

As long as these Divine Worms weren’t foolish, they would never refuse to help Yahola, because to help him was essentially to fight Long Yi indirectly. It was a way to preserve themselves and probe the limits of Long Yi’s power. Why not embrace such a proposition?

"We will help you," Simu was the first to speak.

"Yes, we will all help you. So, what kind of help do you need?" Turun asked as well.

"First, I need to solidify my power," Yahola finally let out a smile.

Mahal’s recent battles could almost be described as unstoppable. One after another, the territory of the Black Sea Demons had mostly fallen into his own hands, and more than two-thirds of Yahola’s cherished warships had also succumbed to him.

In Mahal’s eyes, it wouldn’t be long before the entire Black Sea Demon force would become the Mahal Pirate Group!

At this point, those pirates who had regretted following Mahal had long since ceased all complaints. Each battle felt like a festival to them, as there was nothing more exhilarating than bullying others.

But today was completely different.

The plan for today was to attack one of Yahola’s important secret bases. An inside informant had told Mahal that Yahola was currently within this secret base, gathering more than a hundred people for a special training session just a week ago. Mahal wholly scorned this; what kind of special training in the world could turn them into super soldiers capable of confronting Battle Armored warriors in just a short week?

If it had been earlier, these pirates would have taken a wide detour upon hearing where Yahola was. But now, brimming with overconfidence, they were eager to engage Yahola themselves, to prove their bravery.

So, the battle began inside this secret base, an Asteroid converted for the purpose.

Mahal had been to this secret base several times; because it was built inside, one had no way of knowing from the outside that a port capable of berthing mid-sized ships was hidden here. The inside informant quickly took control of the gatekeeper and then opened the exterior gate, allowing several ships to dock immediately. Battle Armored warriors swarmed out, and the pirates stood no chance—they hadn’t even made contact before scattering in all directions.

Mahal was at the forefront, grabbing a pirate who hadn’t managed to flee and demanding the location of Yahola. The pirate quickly gave Mahal the correct route, and Mahal charged ahead with a group of Battle Armored warriors following closely.

It led to a large warehouse with tightly closed doors.

"Blow it open! Let’s go in!" Mahal commanded with full swagger.

Suddenly, the person behind him unleashed a Fighting Aura technique, blasting a huge hole in the metal door, and a swarm of Battle Armored warriors poured in. There, Mahal saw the figure which previously would make him shudder at a glance!

At that moment, Yahola stood there, with rows of neatly arranged large metal canisters behind him. It was unclear what was inside them, but there wasn’t a single pirate in sight.

"Long time no see, Group Leader Yahola!" Mahal initiated the greeting with a casual tone.

Yahola glanced at Mahal and then slowly spoke, "Go. Spare no one."

Hearing this, Mahal’s heart skipped a beat, because he had occasionally seen Yahola with such an expression, and whenever he showed that expression, it meant his killing intent was set!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One after another, the metal canisters behind Yahola burst open, and from inside stepped out a group of exceptionally tall humanoid creatures!

These beings, taller than Battle Armor, seemed to have once been human; they wore what used to be the clothes of pirates, but the garments had been torn into strips from the bodies’ rapid swelling, hanging off their frames, and their skin, unable to cope with such swift growth, was ripped open, exposing bare muscles!

"What is this?" Mahal asked himself, utterly astonished.

But already a creature in front had unleashed a burst of Fighting Aura and slammed into Mahal in an instant.

Despite using Fighting Aura to protect his body and despite the defense of the Battle Armor, Mahal still heard the crack of his own sternum followed by his body swiftly retreating, knocking over several other heavily armored warriors before coming to a halt.

Gasping for breath, his vision darkening, and most importantly, his powerful Battle Armor was shattered by the opponent’s impact!

"Retreat! Retreat immediately!" Mahal made a split-second decision. He didn’t know what these humanoid creatures were, but he did know that if they didn’t leave now, they likely wouldn’t be able to!

Seeing Mahal’s state and hearing his command, the surrounding pirates didn’t dare delay and quickly sped up their retreat. Those formidable human-shaped beings followed, stepping heavily as they pursued. Whenever a heavily armed warrior was overtaken, a scream would ensue, followed by the Battle Armor self-destructing due to extreme damage.

Mahal was having difficulty breathing and his vision was flashing dark; he found he could not muster any Fighting Aura at all. He was being supported by two heavily armored warriors as they retreated at high speed, the sound of Battle Armor self-destructing ringing in his ears.

It was a trap!

This was Mahal’s last thought before he lost consciousness.

When Mahal came to, he was on a spaceship, surrounded by pirates with grim faces. The Battle Armor had already been removed, with each piece showing various astonishing damages, while groans of pain emanated from the wounded around him.

"How much have we lost?" Mahal asked with a trembling voice to someone nearby.

Seeing Mahal awake, all the brethren around him looked over at once. Then, someone beside him whispered, "The spaceship is on autopilot, and all the brothers are here."

Only a little more than thirty people were left, most of them seriously injured.

All the Battle Armor was damaged, and less than half could be reused.

What the hell were those things?

Mahal’s mind was filled with this question. Having followed Yahola for so long, he had never heard of such things. Within the entire Pirate Group, he was confident he had a wide network, which is why he dared to fight against Yahola without leaving any backups. But what he had just seen scared him, as he had never encountered or even heard of anything like it before. However, he was certain that Yahola had not always possessed these things; they must have been acquired recently. Because Mahal knew Yahola too well—if Yahola had had these things earlier, he wouldn’t have waited until now; he would have used them in his quest to dominate the Number One Pirate Group in the Plane!

"Big brother, what do we do now?" A brother beside him looked at Mahal, all eyes landing on him.

"We wait. We wait for Lord Long Yi to find us. I believe with his capabilities, he must have a way to deal with those monsters," Mahal said.

To be honest, Mahal was truly out of options.

At this moment, Long Yi was jubilantly harvesting Cosmic Stones, completely unaware of what was happening. In his view, it was impossible for Mahal to be in any danger. From any angle, Yahola seemed to be just a normal person. A Divine Worm would never be content with just being a pirate. As long as it wasn’t a Divine Worm, those heavily armored warriors should be more than enough to cope, and even if they did face real danger, with Mahal’s cautious nature, he was sure to be able to escape!

However, a conversation overheard in a restaurant while he was resupplying on a planet made Long Yi realize that Mahal might have bit off more than he could chew.

Long Yi had previously reserved some of the restaurant’s secret sauce after tasting it and finding it delicious, and he had ordered a lot. He was there to collect his order when he overheard two patrons discussing recent pirate skirmishes across the Plane. One mentioned Mahal’s impressive use of Battle Armor, but the other countered, "I don’t know how tough that Mahal is, but I hear Yahola, the Black Sea Demon, is attacking Interstellar Wraith ranked second and Silent Flame ranked first, and those two Pirate Groups have been powerless to fight back. They say Yahola has gotten his hands on a group of incredibly powerful warriors, terrifying in appearance, with unimaginable strength!"

Hearing this, Long Yi knew he didn’t need to listen any further. If Yahola had started attacking other Pirate Groups, that meant he was attempting to unify the Pirate Groups as a whole, which also meant that Mahal had already lost.

Perhaps...

Clearly, the threat Mahal faced was far more serious than Long Yi had initially anticipated.

So Long Yi immediately decided to stop collecting Cosmic Stones; he had to first verify whether Mahal was still alive. (To be continued.
