Chapter 1635 - 1229: Worm’s Plan
Long Yi was here, merely listening. He would never suddenly step forward and declare, ’I am Long Yi, and I agree.’ He didn’t know what these Worm Apostles intended to say, nor if this was simply a trap. For now, he was just an ordinary Worm Apostle, and he certainly wouldn’t cause trouble for himself.
"So, what should we do?" a Worm Apostle asked.
"I will send a Puppet with my message the next time we leave this Plane for battle. The message will surely be delivered to Long Yi. If Long Yi is interested in this matter, he will definitely come," the Worm Apostle responded.
"No, what we are curious about is how you plan to cooperate secretly with Long Yi. Can we, by ourselves, confront those three High-level Apostles? I heard that Long Yi has even lost the Silver Dragon," another Worm Apostle inquired.
"That’s not a problem. We are no longer mere Worms. Even High-level Apostles are, at best, ordinary warriors with Divine Power. But Long Yi is a true god. Once we create the opportunity for Long Yi to face those three High-level Apostles, how could they possibly stand a chance against him!" the Worm Apostle explained.
"That makes sense!"
"As a part of our deal, we are willing to voluntarily relinquish all powers associated with the Worms and become ordinary Forgotten Ones. We are even ready to enter into a contract with him, swearing never to oppose him in this lifetime," the Worm Apostle added.
Every Worm Apostle present was excited, feeling like they had found a solution to end the battle. However, Long Yi felt that something was not quite right. He couldn’t pinpoint what it was, but he felt that such matters should not be happening here at all. After all, every move here was supposed to be under surveillance.
Whether it was a trap or a real affair, Long Yi would not stop it from happening. It would be an opportunity to get closer to the truth, and he must seize this chance.
A Worm Apostle Puppet was sent out, and unsurprisingly, this Puppet was under Long Yi’s control. In fact, all the Worm Apostle Puppets around the periphery of the Dragon Star Plane were under Long Yi’s control at this moment, so sending any Puppet would result in the same outcome. But Long Yi still needed to arrange it all properly, as a play must be complete in all respects.
In the Heaven Realm, on the battlefield, the Empress of Demon Abyss was roaming the battlefield. She and her Demon Abyss Dragon Warriors have been somewhat irritated lately. Despite being powerful Demon Abyss Dragons, the cold vacuum of space reduced their strength to a fraction of what it should be, which was frustrating. The lethal Iron Water Breath of the Demon Abyss Dragon was ineffective, forcing them to rely on Magic and Fighting Aura to combat. Luckily, thanks to their robust bodies, they did not falter easily in various skirmishes. However, failing to become a decisive force still irked the Empress.
Fortunately, I still have a daughter who makes me proud.
The Empress of Demon Abyss thought so.
During her aimless roaming, the Empress of Demon Abyss suddenly sensed a peculiar signal. It was from a Worm Apostle!
Every Giant Dragon carried a specific set of magic spells intended for detecting Worm Apostles. Although not as sensitive or with as wide a coverage as the future magic radar, this spell was sufficient to detect the presence of Worm Apostles within a certain safety range.
According to standard protocol, upon detecting a Worm Apostle, one should immediately report it, and entities such as Silver Dragons, capable of wielding Divine Power, would be dispatched by Simu to handle the situation, for dealing with Worm Apostles could be problematic without Divine Power.
However, our Empress of Demon Abyss obviously couldn’t wait. She needed to do something to satisfy her desire to battle. Furthermore, she wasn’t devoid of Divine Power. This was a special favor from a relative, as Long Yi had given the Empress of Demon Abyss an Eternal body filled with Divine Power. After all, the Empress of Demon Abyss was Bajie’s mother, and a special favor was certainly appropriate.
Therefore, without fear, she rushed towards the location of the signal.
But contrary to expectations, there were no spacecraft, no additional warriors, just a lone Forgotten One. He was the Worm Apostle, and he appeared completely non-aggressive.
"I bring... a message of goodwill... I want to deliver this message of goodwill to Long Yi," the language of the Worm Apostle seemed somewhat incoherent.
"I thought it was a good business coming my way, you bastard made me get my hopes up for nothing," the Empress of Demon Abyss said very annoyed.
Right now, she really wanted to kill the Worm Apostle in one breath, just pretending he had never been there. But clearly, this was a messenger, and direct killing was not an option.
Well, let’s just take him away.
Using Divine Power magic, she imprisoned the Worm Apostle, and the Empress of Demon Abyss brought her captive before Simu.
Simu was not near the Genesis Artifact. In fact, no one was allowed near the Genesis Artifact at the moment, as it was crucial to prevent someone from pretending to be an ally and secretly sabotaging the Genesis Artifact.
"You captured a Worm Apostle!?" Even Simu was surprised. Worm Apostles, after all, being Demi-Gods, were not easily captured.
"Although I’d love to say yes, unfortunately, it wasn’t by force that I captured him; he said he came to deliver a message, so I just tied him up and brought him here," the Empress of Demon Abyss, though eager to achieve merit, scorned the idea of resorting to lies and instead told the stark truth.
