Chapter 169 - 139 New Year, New Beginning_2

"Rest assured, it won’t be long before you spread your wings. Under the shadow of your wings, all things will turn to ashes!"

Long Yi said.

In the following few days, the imperial city, immersed in the New Year’s atmosphere, became vibrantly lively. Elsa, who had no assignments, toured the imperial city in its entirety with Long Yi, Ai Lin, and Little Zi. They even paid individual visits to Wesley’s house and the homes of the large chef and mosquito brothers.

Neither of the two houses minded Long Yi’s appearance. However, the sight of Elsa, the Guardian Dragon Knight, made them feel tremendously honoured - she was the guardian Dragon Knight after all!

Therefore, their wandering party in the imperial city grew slightly.

Finally, five days later, Elsa received new orders once more - to set out and head for Gentle Wind Plain.

This command set off Long Yi’s dissatisfaction as Elsa’s constant being called away, as a Guardian Dragon Knight, was highly inappropriate. In fact, the White Dragon’s Group Leader holds the right to reject commands he finds unreasonable.

However, this order came directly from the White Dragon’s Group Leader.

The Leader’s intent was simple - he wanted Elsa to engage in battle as much as possible to get stronger. More than that, only amidst battle could she perfectly execute her aerial combat skills that were normally kept hidden.

Long Yi wished he could run to the Dragon Knight’s tower and give the group leader a good scolding, but then thought otherwise. After all, such actions would do no good to anyone, not to mention, he still hasn’t got the ability to counter him.

After the end of their wanderings, Long Yi and Ai Lin resumed their previous routine - meals, rest, and training. The only difference was an increase of three people in their training team and the training ground was shifted to an open-air arena on the outskirts of the imperial city. Wesley had made tremendous progress during their brief separation. His talent had once again advanced and he skillfully exploited his opponent’s weak spots and flaws. It was just a pity that he could not avoid Long Yi’s attacks, no matter how hard he tried.

The large chef and mosquito brothers also made progress, given they were under an aura of genius. If not for the prowess of Long Yi and Ai Lin, these two might have been the stars of the first year. With their remarkable talents, their humorous abilities were sharp as ever, often making everyone laugh during their break times.

During subsequent training, Long Yi and Ai Lin formed a group, while Wesley was paired with the large chef and mosquito brothers.

Initially, Wesley thought that, with his talents, he could at least manage two rounds against Long Yi. However, when he witnessed Long Yi’s battle with Ai Lin, he immediately understood how much Long Yi had been holding back when he was his opponent.

Leaving others aside, Ai Lin alone had fifteen levels of mana! Yet even so, she couldn’t beat Long Yi! The extent of his dragon power seemed unfathomably deep!

Soon, February ended and the term recommenced at the Dragon Knight Academy.

After the two months, Long Yi’s fighting aura had advanced to the thirteenth level, while Elsa’s mana had risen to the seventeenth! With these dizzying achievements, they welcomed the new term.

At the start of the new term, Long Yi noticed one missing person at the Academy.

Professor Yavenny.

It seemed she had really left, and so silently that it was as if she had never been there at all. Despite her oddness, Miss Yavenny was not bothersome. Long Yi, for some reason, found himself slightly missing her.

However, when the new semester’s studies began in earnest, he had no time to dwell on it.

Thanks to his continuous efforts, finally, a month after the start of term, Long Yi overcame the challenges of dragon language and advanced to the third year smoothly, while Ai Lin moved up to the third year with ease. At the same time, Wesley, the large chef, and mosquito brothers skipped to the second year.

But this was not Long Yi’s final goal.

His name was already known in the third year, so on the first day of his advancement to the third year, with the understanding of the mentor, they prepared a grand ’welcome’ ceremony. However, Long Yi and Ai Lin knocked down all the third-year students, an incident so major that it alarmed the Dean, who resembled Gandalf in appearance.

It was eventually determined to be a collective challenge initiated by the third year students against Long Yi and Ai Lin.

Afterwards, Long Yi didn’t stop and kept studying hard in hopes of making it to the fourth year.

However, at that point, Long Yi suddenly realized something.

He had run out of academic credits.

Academic credits are cleared after every advancement. Long Yi’s previous advancement credits came from assignments, and now Long Yi was forced to face the embarrassing situation of starting from scratch.

Luckily, they had the Dragon God Space.

Upon entering the Dragon God Space, the first thing that Long Yi saw was the turbofan engine. He wondered whether the Elf World Tree knew this, and whether the legendary Silver Dragon was still okay.

Looking at the engine and reminiscing about the past, Long Yi decisively created a new battleground.

Recently, Lei Zhen has been very upset because he is bored. After the school’s tasks, he returned from half a year of continuous battles. He thought he could finally have a good rest, but his rest continued until now! Two months ago, a powerful monster appeared again at the Gentle Wind Plain, Lei Zhen volunteered to take part in the fight, but he was told that the second legion was to be deployed for the fight, while the third legion, to which Lei Zhen belonged, was to continue resting!

How could Lei Zhen, as a battle maniac, bear that?

With nothing to do, he spent most of his time in the Dragon God Space, hoping to find a suitable opponent for a fierce fight. To his disappointment, such things didn’t happen that easily.
