Chapter 564 - 447: Battle of the Crystal Demon

"Yes, as scheduled, today we will reclaim the last piece of land on this star! The Demon Tribe’s Imperial City!" declared Belle.

The Demon Tribe’s Imperial City used to be the most prosperous area of the Demon Tribe, several times larger than all human imperial cities combined. Continuous warfare led the Crystal Demons to almost completely slaughter all the peripheral Crazy Demons on this planet. Now, the Crazy Demons entrenched in the Imperial City are the most formidable among them.

Over the past month, the Crystal Demon warriors, under Belle’s leadership, had achieved constant victories, advancing all the way to the center of the Imperial City, the Demon Tribe’s grandest Imperial Palace!

To prevent the palace from being damaged during the fight, the Crystal Demons developed a series of plans to lure out the Crazy Demons. Yet, they continued to occupy the palace and refused to leave. Today, Belle decided to annihilate all the Crazy Demons at once, even if it meant sacrificing the palace!

This was a tough choice. Nobody liked the idea of destroying their homeland. But faced with a predicament, a choice had to be made.

Under Belle’s guidance, Long Yi was taken to a building on the top of a mountain. The building was made of rock, judging by the weathering marks, it should belong to ancient times. In the distance, the grand building complex is the Imperial Palace of the Demon Tribe. During the Demon Tribe’s most prosperous era, tens of thousands of people were living in the palace alone. Now, only Crazy Demons linger in the palace.

Long Yi had originally planned to assist in battle. After all, fighting side by side was the best way to deepen friendships. However, Belle firmly disagreed. She invited Long Yi just to be a spectator. She didn’t need Long Yi to participate in any fights.

That’s when Belle realized that the light shield could actually absorb the power of the Light Cannons!

"Cease fire! Stand by, rest on the spot!"

All Crystal Demons immediately sat down, their bodies’ glow dimming. Their consciousness is returning to the Crystal Demon planet. This method of remotely loading consciousness is extremely energy draining, especially during an intense battle. Thus, it’s vitally important for the fighters to get timely rest.

Belle lands from the sky to conserve energy. She approaches the light shield and places her hands on it, but no matter how hard she tries, she can’t get closer. The light shield isn’t physically solid but it fundamentally refuses Crystal Demons access. The Crystal Demons’ physical bodies are blocked while their energy is absorbed by the shield, which then uses the energy to maintain itself.

But this doesn’t make sense!

How can these low-intelligence Crazy Demons control such a thing?

Seeing Belle’s confusion from a distance, Long Yi immediately rushed over.

"What is this?" Long Yi asked Belle.

"I don’t know, I’ve never seen something like this before." Belle responded, "I can feel the Demon Power within it, but the way it operates is the complete opposite of ours. It’s hard to imagine that these Crazy Demons can master such a miraculous Demon Power technique. But the apparent reality forces me to believe."

Belle was frustrated, but clearly, if they didn’t rid of this light shield, the battle could end in a stalemate. "Lingling!" Long Yi called, and Lingling appeared in response, freely walking on both side of the shield, showing no signs of being repelled. This was understandable because Lingling’s essence was a Crazy Demon’s Crystal Core. Theoretically, the light shield was very likely to see Lingling as a Crazy Demon.

"Maybe, I can bring you in?" Long Yi suggested.

By "bring in", naturally refers to using Long Yi’s private space. Crystal Demons’ physical bodies are their Crystal Cores. Long Yi would just need to collect the Crystal Cores which didn’t have any consciousness loaded, into his private space then immerge within the light shield.

"Let’s give it a try!" Belle expressed excitedly.

Long Yi came out of the light shield, picked up some Crystal Cores placing them into his private space and then walked inside the light shield again before taking them out.
