Chapter 149 - 120: Kill It, Save It
The complex scent of fragrance, alcohol, and tobacco seeped into the nostrils.
Molly shook her ears.
The girl groggily opened her eyes, rubbed them, and sat up from the luxurious golden carpet.
As Molly gradually opened her eyes wider, her tail fluffed up in shock. A majestic and resplendent hall appeared before her, and she found herself lying on a performance stage, surrounded by all sorts of classical and elegant instruments on the carpet.
Where is this?!
Molly tried to recall but found her memory chaotic. She vaguely remembered sitting in a magic-guided vehicle in Secret Silver Port, clutching a crumpled proof of departure.
She seemed to have successfully boarded Mr. Dean’s Ideal, and then...
She couldn’t remember.
Barefoot, she hurriedly walked off the performance stage covered with golden carpet and began to observe her surroundings in confusion.
Dim light filtered through the stained glass at the dome, forming beams of light, creating a dreamlike scene. The girl’s cheap, faded dress was elevated to a noble status by the hall’s environment.
Molly had never seen such a majestic hall.
This seemed to be a place for hosting grand banquets. Below the performance stage, a table as white as jade was covered with expensive cloth, and the exquisite tableware on it was dazzling to behold.
The floor was made of golden polished tiles, and massive murals hung on the walls, depicting a hero representing Justice, raising the Holy Sword, surrounded by thousands of admiring people in a sea of flowers.
Two rows of ornately carved marble columns bore the dome. Chandeliers hung down from the flying buttresses, wrapped in vines blooming with flowers.
The most striking thing was the omnipresent flowers...
From the tiles to the walls, from the massive columns to the dome, from the seats to the dining table, flowers adorned the hall, seemingly everywhere.
Harmonious, noble, mysterious, elegant, graceful, and seamlessly fitting, everything exuded the ultimate——
Beauty.
Beauty that was intoxicating, beauty that was captivating, beauty that was eerie.
The hero in the painting had a bizarre curve at the corner of his mouth, seemingly shifting his eyes to admire the perfect, eternal banquet.
An intense sense of unease crept up Molly’s spine. Her tail, fluffed up like a fur ball, hadn’t returned to normal. The surroundings were eerily quiet as Molly perked up her furry ears, cautiously moving toward the only ’exit.’
Gradually, she sensed the oddness of her surroundings. The breathtakingly beautiful banquet hall finally began to reveal many discordant aspects.
The closer she got to the exit, the weaker the overall beauty of the hall became. The exquisite tableware on the dining table began to tip over, the jade seats became crooked, and the bright flowers were chaotically piled on the mural, covering the hero’s face.
The flowers no longer complemented the hall. Instead, they seemed to display a posture of resistance.
Molly had already arrived at the massive door. She stood on tiptoe and sniffed. The strong smell of alcohol and tobacco was coming from behind this door...
She reached out her hand and parted the vines covering the surface of the door.
The next second, a gigantic, sinister claw mark came into view in her eyes.
The large relief on the door’s surface had been torn apart by the claw mark, oozing fragrant sap from within as if it were bleeding.
Is this hall alive?
Molly stood frozen on the spot, and inexplicably, she bent her fingers to compare her nails with the claw mark.
Rustle, rustle...
At that moment, something furry rolled over on the other side of the dining table, the subtle noise particularly jarring in the quiet environment.
"Ha—" The girl was so startled she jumped, arched her back, and then noticed a little Fes girl lying there.
"Daisy!"
Molly instinctively called out. She hurried over and vigorously rubbed the other’s face: "Wake up!"
"Uh..." Daisy groggily opened her eyes. Seeing her friend’s face, she relaxed and stretched lazily: "It’s Molly..."
"Come to your senses, something big has happened!"
Molly’s tone was extremely urgent: "Do you know how you got here?"
"Here? Aren’t we on the boat?"
Daisy immediately perked up her ears. She instinctively turned her head, looking behind Molly, and the next second, the little beauty’s lovely tricolor tail also fluffed up into a ball.
"This is not the Ideal!"
Daisy instantly sobered up. She instinctively hugged Molly’s waist, burying her face in her friend’s chest, trembling: "Molly, who are they?"
"They?"
Molly was once again stunned.
As if plunged into an ice cave, the girl slowly turned her head. At some point unknown, both sides of the banquet table were filled with well-dressed spectators.
Men and women had vibrant, twisted flowers blooming on their faces. They faced the two Fes girls, raising their wine glasses in silence.
The hero holding the Holy Sword had stepped down from the mural. He stood on the performance stage, his armor replaced with a well-fitted suit.
"Ladies, it’s time to perform."
A mesmerising voice whispered into the ears of the two Fes people, as the handsome face broke into a smile: "Since you have come to the hall of Justice, it means you are both people of extraordinary talent."
"Come on, step onto the stage."
He placed a hand on his chest, extending the other palm up in a polite invitation: "You should offer all your beauty to Justice · [Beauty God] in the most enchanting years."
The audience erupted in a thunderous applause!
