Chapter 152 - 121: The Path to Justice (Part 2)
But this doesn’t mean Daisy and Molly can’t sing with their own voices.
They were no longer satisfied with just listening to the music with their ears!
"You sang it out last night, didn’t you?"
Molly looked into her friend’s eyes: "That was the song we wrote together in the academy."
Don’t be fooled by Daisy’s soft and fragrant tri-colored beauty, for the shouts and energy bursting from that delicate body are comparable to those of professional heavy singers!
Daisy nodded uneasily; it was her first time singing out loud the song in her heart.
She hung her head: "Sorry... I got carried away last night..."
"No! I joined in singing too; we lost consciousness in our chorus!"
Molly interrupted her friend. In Daisy’s confused gaze, her tone gradually became urgent: "No wonder I woke up on the performance platform! I finally understand—"
"This is a deep-sea route!"
The girl’s eyes sparkled, and she tightly grasped her friend’s hand: "We were exploring a brand new route last night!!"
"You heard it too, right? That strange person from the painting told us!"
She shook her ears, and her tone gradually became solemn: "Nightingale is also exploring that route! But she is playing songs for those terrifying audiences and heroes!"
"But we were clearly on the shore, and we didn’t have any ships..."
"The ways navigators explore routes are always unpredictable."
Molly anxiously paced around the room: "And only when navigators establish rules and the Gray Realm is completely stable will the sea surface available for ship navigation emerge!"
"Nightingale must have made a mistake! Those audiences and flowers are clearly twisted monsters!"
Molly gritted her teeth and turned around to hastily walk out the door: "Daisy, we must tell this to..."
"Molly!"
At that moment, Daisy suddenly tightly grabbed the hem of her friend’s skirt.
Her charming face was full of panic: "We can’t... We can’t tell Mentor Yi Feng and Lord Lin Lan about what happened in the dream!"
"Why?" Molly turned her head, looking at her friend’s eyes.
"We’ve finally got a beautiful tomorrow; if we reveal this, won’t Lord Lin Lan think it’s troublesome and drive us away?"
Daisy drooped her ears: "When handling the exit permit, I heard Nightingale will come to Ark Island to establish a partnership with Lord Lin Lan."
"On one side, we have the acclaimed, platinum-level star navigator, and on the other, the despised, useless Fes People..."
She clutched her friend’s skirt: "Even thinking with my tail, I can guess who he would choose!"
Molly remained silent.
"We’ve already found a reason to enter Flower Palace; if creating and singing is the way to explore routes..."
Daisy trembled, shouting aloud: "Then I will never sing again!"
Molly was completely stunned; she looked at her friend’s stubborn floral face and felt the warm room inexplicably grew colder.
Again, her mind flashed back to the words of the black big cat.
—’Newborn children cannot bear such heavy responsibilities; you just need to live safely.’
Indeed, what right do I have to suggest anything to Lord Lin Lan?
Ark Island is so calm and beautiful, just like how Daisy and I planned it; as long as we follow the arrangements, I can get a stable income and then bring my father and mother over for a good life with occasional meat.
Why do anything extra?
To explore the ocean? To contradict Nightingale head-on? Even thinking about it is unreal, such actions might even be deemed extremely foolish.
They’ve already successfully escaped the muddy pit of prejudice from the Alliance; now they just need to keep their mouths shut and give up a small, insignificant hobby.
Molly instinctively clenched her fists.
Strangely, she suddenly recalled her father’s gaunt face, the mocking curve at the manager’s mouth, and those malicious hat nicknames.
Everyone was telling her that Fes People don’t deserve a beautiful tomorrow, and only by bowing down, lower still, humbly serving others can Fes People obtain that precious peace.
But then, why did Father crash into the Star Ladder Main Island’s official?
Why did Mentor Yi Feng resolutely step onto Ideal with his desperate students?
Why did Captain Feis, piloting Fog Claw in Fog Strait of ’Courageous Backbone,’ head straight for death?
Why would Justice’s Gravekeeper choose solitude and madness while awaiting the Beastman Race?
Has everyone gone mad?!
The very last thing was Daisy’s happy smiling face when she sang open-heartedly.
"If giving up singing means getting the most beautiful tomorrow..."
Molly’s voice also trembled; she reached out, trying to brush away the tears on her friend’s face: "Then why are you crying, Daisy?"
Daisy stared with big, tear-filled eyes; she stubbornly perked up her furry ears and glared fiercely at her friend.
"Because we love singing more than anyone else."
Molly asked and answered herself: "We are born navigators, skilled in exploring the ocean."
"No way!" Daisy’s fur flew all over: "I’m no fool!"
"What if I insist on pulling you in?"
"Then I will no longer listen to songs with you!!"
Daisy slapped her friend’s hand away, she arched her back, using the nastiest curse words she could muster: "You are so overestimating yourself, you simple-minded fool!"
Molly did not get angry.
She just sat back down, patted her thigh, and held out her hand.
The tri-colored little beauty hesitated for a moment but eventually complied, laying her head on her friend’s thigh.
Molly stretched out her hand, scratching under the other’s chin—a gesture only made when asking for reconciliation.
"Scared, huh?"
She knew Daisy’s anxiety better than anyone because she was similarly fearful.
Molly feared the cold gaze of the world greatly because she was just an insignificant person, a naturally sensitive Fes People.
On White Oak Main Island, just seeing things that shouldn’t be seen, hearing things that shouldn’t be heard, would lead Fes People to get hurt and abandoned; there were too many examples of this.
Daisy hummed a sound, no answer.
But as Molly’s fingertips quickened, Daisy still made purring sounds.
"Daisy, I don’t believe doing nothing and quietly waiting would make the beautiful tomorrow actively come to us."
Molly’s voice softened as she began gently rubbing her friend’s furry ears: "I just want to prove to Lord Lin Lan that Fes People are absolutely not mere decorative pets—not in the past and not now."
"Hm, whatever suits you."
Daisy pouted her little lips, focusing on enjoying the rare massage service.
"What a contrarian little beauty you are; no wonder you share the same hobby with me~"
Molly happily rubbed her friend’s face.
She knew this tri-colored little cat girl too well—soft yet not weak, fragile yet stubborn, timid yet brave—but when it came to true rights and wrongs, Daisy never hesitated.
"That’s to say, why do you have so much faith in Lord Lin Lan?"
Daisy comfortably squinted her eyes.
"Instinct." Molly replied resolutely.
Daisy turned her head, viciously biting her friend’s fingers, clearly dissatisfied with this answer.
"Stop messing around, we should be off."
Molly tapped her friend’s restless head: "We have to learn from Mentor Yi Feng and become a stable and mature Fes People."
·
"Ahhhh, it’s the D-D-D-D-Doragon People!!"
Under the brand-new tall building, the mature purple-haired cat girl was already losing her calm.
"Hehehe~ so it’s the lovely Fes beauties~"
The Black-winged Calamity Master mischievously hugged the purple-haired cat girl’s shoulders, brazenly pinching Yi Feng’s face, emitting a terrifying laugh like a rogue teasing a decent woman.
"Eh? Why are your eyes turning white?"
