Chapter 1305 - 1053: Let’s Join Forces
"Achoo!"
While he was busy disassembling the Nightmare Knights, Long Yi suddenly sneezed loudly. He looked around, somewhat puzzled; beside him were just two disassembled Nightmare Knights, nothing else. The air was quite warm, so what was the deal with this sudden sneeze?
Having finally ended the threat of the monsters, the entire plane began its reconstruction, and Long Yi could finally use this time to see what commonalities these Nightmare Knights and the previous Giant Monsters had.
The Leviathan Worms and their internal metal skeletons were all preserved by Long Yi. These worms were quite obedient; a fragment of a Cosmic Stone was enough to sustain them for a long time. However, it was the metal skeletons that had Long Yi engrossed in research for a while.
These metal skeletons were still derived from Giant technology, but some changes were made internally to make them less obviously Giant-style. Most importantly, they had abandoned the Power Core design. Instead of a Power Core, they stored energy entirely within the metal, utilizing a special Array structure to store energy. This method was quite innovative, but since metal is not an excellent energy storage device, such a move, while it could enhance the metal skeleton’s response to energy, would reduce operational time, seemingly not worth the trade-off.
On the other hand, the Nightmare Knights were definitely in line with the Giant’s design concept. Whether it was the core or the power structure, it was basically similar to the Giant’s ideas, except there were some obviously stupid mistakes that the Giants would never make. It seemed as though the designers of the Nightmare Knights wanted them to be powerful but were also afraid of them being too powerful, which led to such contradictory actions.
"Update the part structures," Long Yi said.
"Entering record mode," said the disassembled Nightmare Knight. Long Yi had already obtained the permissions to improve the Nightmare Knights, so now these metal beings were very obedient.
Using the Giant staff, Long Yi began to remake and design parts for the Nightmare Knight below, replacing defective areas with pure Giant thought and style, which would greatly enhance the combat power of the Nightmare Knights themselves.
Although the process sounded quick, it took Long Yi several days. The final result directly increased the combat power of the Nightmare Knights by at least forty percent.
The Nightmare Knights knew best whether the transformation was successful or not. After Long Yi completed a transformation, all the Nightmare Knights received the modification scheme. They violently destroyed the original parts and then used their regenerative ability to rebuild and replace them with new parts. Long Yi found himself quite envious; this ability to swap parts at will seemed perfect for battle.
But for now, there was no use for the Nightmare Knights, since the world was at peace.
Long Yi also released the Cosmic Accelerator, trying to locate the Golden Battleship with the Accelerator’s sensitivity to Giant devices. However, after several days of no response, it seemed that the Balance Church had hidden the Golden Battleship well. Unable to find the Golden Battleship or the false god who liked to build planets, Long Yi decided to explore the plane and see if there were any Giant heritages left.
Aboard the Great Explorer, the star map marked the areas where the Giants had once been active. Long Yi wanted to acquire some advanced weapons and equipment, but he was even more interested in obtaining Cosmic Stones to feed the Leviathan Worms.
Of course, there was an even bigger problem. So far, Little Zi, Xiaodie, and the Divine Envoy girls had not made a move, and Long Yi had no idea where they had gone. He needed to find them.
At this time, on the far side of a certain planet, a golden battleship was hiding.
In a secret warehouse, Turun, the archbishop of the Balance Church, was smiling as he looked at Little Zi, who was sealed within the crystal Eternal block. His half-mechanical body emitted a faint humming sound while his mechanical eye emitted light, reinforcing the runes around the crystal Eternal block.
"How is it, have you thought it through? Divine Soul, Divine Status, and Divine Power, which will you give me first?" Turun’s ordinary eye shimmered with a red glow, his face full of greed.
"Worm, if you want my power, come in and take it yourself," Little Zi said with a mocking smile on her face.
"Heh, I dare not. You are the strongest god I have ever met, and you are a Trinity of Divine Soul, Divine Status, and consciousness. If I’m not careful, I’m afraid you might completely obliterate me," Turun said.
"Stop talking nonsense, I understand the character of you Divine Worms all too well. Whatever comes out of your mouth is mostly lies. So, Worm, there’s no point wasting time here, I know you can’t do much to me now. Just stay away from me, and don’t let me find your weakness," Little Zi said.
Turun’s eye sockets trembled, and he forced a smile from the corner of his mouth before turning away.
Being able to trap a god like her here was almost unimaginable for Turun because he hadn’t captured her; Little Zi had fallen into the crystal Eternal block on her own. Turun didn’t create the crystal Eternal block to target Little Zi, but against Simu—another false god in this plane. Just after he had put endless efforts into completing the crystal Eternal block, Little Zi unexpectedly appeared here. According to the design concept of the crystal Eternal block, any Demi-Gods or false gods trapped inside would undoubtedly be suppressed and forced to surrender their Divine Status and Divine Power.
But Little Zi was neither a Demi-God nor a false god!
A Trinity!
At this moment, Turun really didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. A Trinity god meant power, but it also meant that he had no way to deal with her. The Eternal block couldn’t suppress her, nor could he command her. The only possible method now was to abandon his old body and attempt to parasitize Little Zi’s consciousness. But seeing Little Zi’s attitude, she seemed to understand the Divine Worms very well! If he failed and trapped himself in the Eternal block, wouldn’t this plane end up in the hands of that bitch Simu?
Therefore, Turun decided to wait. He had waited a very long time and didn’t mind waiting longer. With the golden battleship providing him with nearly infinite energy, he would wait for Simu and Isrile to fight with Ruosha to their mutual downfall and then reap the benefits!
As he was thinking this, suddenly, he received a mysterious Divine Power resonance—it was Simu!
What did this fool, who liked to hide on other people’s planets and create planets, want from me? Turun didn’t understand, but as an old adversary who had been covertly contending for many years, he knew very well that Simu would never seek him out if it weren’t for something extremely important.
"What’s going on?" Turun resonated with the Divine Power. Almost at the same time, Little Zi within the crystal Eternal structure also felt this resonance of Divine Power. Puzzled, she adjusted her own Divine Power to respond to the resonance, and then Turun’s voice, as well as Simu’s, reached her.
"Can’t I seek you out if there’s nothing wrong?" Simu said.
"Don’t beat around the bush, we’re both Divine Worms, split from the same original entity. You know me and I know you, just speak your mind," Turun didn’t want to waste time with Simu, worried that his hidden location might be discovered.
"Since that’s the case, I’ll just say it outright," Simu said, "Let’s join forces."
Turun thought he had heard wrong, "What did you say?"
Simu sighed, "Let’s join forces."
Turun’s single eyeball widened, "You treacherous woman, is your brain broken or are my ears failing? After fighting for so many years, now that only you and I are left, you’re coming to join forces with me?"
"In this Plane, the only kin I know of are you and me. And you should also know, a Giant has come to the midst Plane, but what you may not yet know is, that Giant also possesses a Divine Status," Simu said.
Turun immediately understood why Simu had approached him for an alliance.
"How’s your Whitestar doing?" Turun asked in a low voice.
"That Whitestar was completely constructed using Giant technology; unsurprisingly, control was taken over by that Giant, and the Nightmare Knights as well," Simu said.
"Deservedly so," Turun laughed.
"You can continue to take pleasure in others’ misfortune here, hiding in your dark corner. Or, you and I could join forces, whether it’s to kill that Giant or to take over his body and Divine Status, I will absolutely not compete with you for them," Simu said.
Taking over a Giant’s body and Divine Status! This proposition enticed Turun.
Divine Worms have no physical form of their own; they are merely consciousness, which can only survive by parasitizing the consciousness of other intelligent life. As for which life to parasitize, that’s a matter of luck. Turun was the original name of this body, he was a fanatical religious leader, and the name of that religion was the Balance Church, known, as everyone knew, for maintaining the balance of the Planes. But this half-mechanical body was really uncomfortable for it. The Divine Worm couldn’t control the mechanical part of the body at all, and so it had to leave Turun with a bit of consciousness. Moreover, it had to be vigilant at all times to not let Turun’s own consciousness fully awaken, a feeling that was nearly driving it insane.
While it was impossible to parasitize a true God of the Trinity, a Giant seemed a fair alternative.
"Joining forces is fine, what do you want me to do?" Turun asked.
"I need your expertise to help me modify my Leviathan Dragon Beast," Simu said.
"What, those Leviathan Worms aren’t working out?" Turun asked.
"Leviathan Worms are certainly powerful, but they can’t withstand the might of another god. Therefore, I need to retain the strength of the Leviathan Worms while making them no longer heed to another god’s commands," Simu said.
"That’s precisely what I excel at," Turun chuckled.
The communication ended there, and Little Zi also smiled. Although Little Zi received scant information, it revealed several things: first, Long Yi had successfully arrived in this Plane; second, Long Yi had prevailed against the pseudo-god Simu; third, the only two remaining Divine Worms in this Plane were considering forming an alliance.
So, what can I do?
Little Zi asked herself this question.
"Right, what can we do?" the thirteen Avatars inside Little Zi also asked her.
"This truly is troublesome," Little Zi felt a bit helpless.
Directly transferred into this crystal Eternal form, Little Zi had attempted many methods to escape, all ending in failure – the name Eternal was indeed not for naught. Of course, although unable to leave, that idiot Turun also dared not enter this place. However, being a piece of Magic equipment, Little Zi was confident that this thing must have its vulnerabilities, and to find what they were would likely require careful searching on her part. But as long as this thing wasn’t personally made by a Giant, Little Zi was confident she could break it!
Consider it being a spy embedded within the enemy.
Little Zi thought to herself cheerfully. (To Be Continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for it with recommended tickets and monthly tickets on Qidian (qidian.com). Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
